Honey Harvest at Fairmont Hotel

Group Honey Harvest at the Fairmont Hotel

Thursday, July 9, 6-9 PM (http://www.fairmont.com/washington/)

Each year the kitchen of the Fairmont Hotel welcomes DC beekeepers who would like to harvest cooperatively to their awesome kitchen. This is. I think, our fifth year!
Extractors and tools are provided for everyone. We absolutely must hear ahead of time whether you plan to attend, whether you are bringing honey to harvest and how much (not required, helping hands welcome!) and a food-safe container to bring your harvest home.

This event is limited (hey, it's a commercial kitchen, not a stadium) and we will prioritize beekeepers with honey.
All present cooperate to uncap, extract, filter, and bucket the honey. Bottling happens when you take your harvest home, not at the hotel. Nonetheless, we try to send volunteers home with a sample!
If we get a lot of volunteers, I may ask you to come at certain times to be sure everyone has a chance to try each step.
If you want to participate as a helper, you are not required to be present for the whole time.
